Miers and Rove won't testify under oath?
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 02:14 PM by redqueen
From CNN

"-- The White House will allow key presidential aide Karl Rove and former counsel Harriet Miers to be interviewed by committees probing the firings of U.S. attorneys, but they will not testify under oath, Rep. Chris Cannon says."

If they're subpoenaed, they damn well will!

These crooks are so unashamed of their crimes, it's sickening.

1. The WH position is clear: not under oath, behind closed doors, and without transcripts.
A constitutional fight is brewing.

16. it's a minor point, but I wish Schumer would
stop jumping out on this. It's Leahy's Chairmanship, but you'd never know it from the way Schumer acts as spokesman. It really isn't up to him to say the Committee is going ahead with subpoenas.

FOAD you POS to the White House Counsel. They will come under oath now and voluntarily or later when the subpoenas come thorough.

I really sense a constitutional crisis coming and I say it can't happen soon enough. It's time to bring the chimperor to his knees.

on edit: typo correction

11. Trivia: I wonder why her name is spelled "Miers" and pronounced ...
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 02:20 PM by TahitiNut
... "my-urz." If it's a German name, such a spelling would infer a pronunciation of "mears" ("ears" preceded by an "m"). German is very regular in its rules of pronunciation. The "ie"/"ei" diphthong is always pronounced according to the second letter ... "ei" is "eye" and "ie" is "ee."

Just something that perplexes my trivial mind.

18. Hah, I had to edit cause I spelled it Meirs in the subject line...
based on how it would be spelled if German pronunciation rules were observed.

23. I know ... I get my "wires crossed" on that all the time.
Like a dummy, my high school and college language elective was German. (Only the "dumb" kids picked Spanish and the "girls" chose French.) Dumb. I've kicked myself in the butt in all the times I've been in French-speaking or Spanish-speaking circumstances ... and felt like a total dunce when I've been in Germany (or Switzerland) and couldn't remember enough German to make any kind of sense.

21. These two clowns are NOT public employees or officials.
They are Public Figures. Let the White House try it. We should remind rePukes that if THEY can pull this off, perhaps another administration from the DEMOCRATIC PARTY might just try it.

Precedent is precedent.
