Tree nationThe project manager of the site linked above saw my petition to Mr. Gore on the Internet asking people to pledge to be climate messengers, and their site is now supporting my petition to Mr. Gore to spur people into action regarding the climate crisis.
The site is also planting a tree for every 100 signatures on this petition which have now reached close to four hundred from all over the world from Sweden, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Mexico, Indonesia, India, U.S. to Iran as examples. I am now passing this on and asking you to please help by signing it and passing it on to get more trees planted in Niger to help mitigate deforestation and alleviate poverty.
This site is a good site doing a good thing... planting 8 million trees in Niger (in the shape of a heart) to fight deforestation in concert with the UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme.)
I am so happy to know that this petition is bringing about real action and hopefully, Mr. Gore will also know that many people stand behind him in his quest to see real action on this crisis take place this year when this petition is sent to him at the end of this month to make him aware of the global ongoing effort to address this crisis now.
About the project:
Tree Nation-ProjectThe Petition:
Pledge To Be A Climate MessengerWith the release of An Inconvenient Truth last May, Mr. Gore and the producers have managed to raise awareness of this crisis and our part in it to a level that will hopefully be sustained enough in this year to warrant some real progress on mitigating it. However, that will not happen unless we take the information he and climate scientists have given us seriously and pledge to take the next step.
That step is to help him spread this information and to also change our own lifestyles in ways that will help preserve this planet and slow down the process of climate change which is already being seen in glaciers across this world regarding rapid melting that has put our own species and others such as rocker penguins and polar bears at risk of extinction, longer and more sustained and severe droughts that are affecting life and livelihoods already in over 35% of our world, acidic oceans unable to sustain the bio chain that links us all together, and other effects that are costing us economically and personally our only home.
The only way to preserve our only home is to take on this challenge ourselves together globally.
Thanks for your help with this!
