Bradley or Gore?

OK, just out of curiosity since many on DU's love affair with Gore knows no bounds. If you had to choose between Bradley and Gore who would it be? I have a feeling I know what the answer is, but obviously in 2000 Bradley was looked at as the more progressive candidate....

I think Gore has been out of the mainstream long enough that he has a whole new perspective on things.

Also, a family friend has known Al for a long time. We never hear anything but lovely things about him.

I always liked Bradley, but I was for Gore in 2000 for the same reason I am now, because he's the best Democrat since Bobby Kennedy, IMO. Nobody has been more progressive on climate change, ever. This is clearly the biggest issue of our time, IMO. Now, I am also for him on the basis of Iraq, civil liberties, etc.

Does that make sense to you?

My guess though is that many on DU who were at best lukewarm on Gore in 2000 would back him now over Bradley. Personally I like them both but would prefer Bradley (then and now)

11. I don't know but my gut feeling is that Gore would be in the WH if he had chosen Bradley as VP

in 2000. Yes, Bradley represented NJ in the Senate but he has his roots in Missouri too, where he was born and lived for quite some time. Might Bradley's presence on the ticket have tipped MO to a Gore/Bradley ticket? a state that Gore lost by only 78,000 votes out of 2.5 million cast? Also, Bradley would have been more acceptable to progressives than Lieberman--could that have been enough to cut the Nader vote in some key states?

But then again we don't even know if Bill Bradley would have accepted VP.

in the primaries, and would still vote for him if he ran today. He is a good man and in line with my views, even more so than Gore.
