Marilyn Musgrave blames election loss on 'leftist special interests'
FORT COLLINS - In her first public comments on her re-election loss - made in a mass phone call to Georgia voters - Rep. Marilyn Musgrave blames her defeat on "leftist special interests" who "smothered the truth with vicious attacks and lies."

Musgrave's remarks came in a so-called "robocall" that went out to 200,000 Georgia voters Monday and today on behalf of Sen. Saxby Chambliss, a Republican who was forced into a runoff with Democratic challenger Jim Martin. The election is today.

(snip)

Musgrave has made no other public comments since shortly after vote totals started coming in the evening of Nov. 4. The three-term Republican incumbent was crushed by Democratic challenger Betsy Markey, 56 percent to 44 percent.

The incumbent didn't make the traditional post-election appearance to thank supporters, and never conceded defeat or called Markey to congratulate her. Musgrave has declined all interview requests since the election.

3. Does that mean she's conceding?
A three-term incumbent losing by 12 points isn't just a defeat; she got creamed. Nice to see that she's as sore a loser as she was ineffective as a member of Congress. Go spend some more time with your family, Marilyn.

6. The Denver Post editorial criticized her for not saying anything after her loss.
I guess she doesn't understand the concept of being gracious. The Denver Post editorial said that she should give a speech like McCain did.

She has been a target of the left since she sponsored a constitutional amendment against gay marriage over the past few elections. It was only after the collapse of the bush presidency that she was finally defeated. THAT's what did it! She doesn't have her facts straight.

10. Vicious attacks? Yeah, she should know. . .
The only vicious attacks were from HER side. And they were INCESSANT.

Seeing that nasty vile woman lose was almost as good as Obama winning.
