Anne Marie Cox is too naive to appear with Rachel Maddow
She uttered the most offensive opinion this evening. She said that the reason Obama didn't campaign in Georgia and go all-out to get that 60-seat Senate is because the Republicans had lost so miserably nationwide and it would have looked like piling on. He was being mannerly by letting this one go.

Great balls of fire. That is the most stupid political analysis I've ever heard, and I'm sure that Washington is laughing its arse off.

The woman needs an education, apparently.

And Rachel didn't help too much by saying this behavior was a lovely contrast to the Bush politics of being too happy to stomp your opponent when he's lost.

This is a war between those who would seek liberty and those who would impose tyranny. There can be no Marquis of Queensbury rules. You bring a stick to a gun fight, and you are going to lose everything. If Democrats haven't learned that yet, all is lost.

I'm hoping that Obama is more strategic than Ms. Cox says he is.

1. If you think Cox is wrong, what do YOU believe is the reason Obama didn't campaign
in Georgia?

7. I have no idea.
But I sure as hell hope it wasn't to "give one" to the Republicans because they suffered so much in the election.

I suspect the seat was unwinnable this cycle.

10. If you think she's too naive, wouldn't it be reasonable to have an alternative theory?
?

2. I have come to believe...
That The Golden Era of Anna Marie was when she was writing(and writing and writing...) about anal sex and getting drunk.

3. If you remember back to her time as "Wonkette"
I think you would not be surprised.... Let's just say her own sexual fantasies consumed one heck of a lot of unnecessary posts.

5. I disagree.
The best the 'pubs could offer was Silly Sarah.

Why in the hell would Obama counter that?

They knew that Chambliss would walk away with this one, and didn't want to lose face by having Obama throw down in a guaranteed loss.

Anyway that's my penny's worth.

Tom

11. I have to admit, I think it was just this calculated...

and I really can't fault Obama for it.

I know it is disappointing--especially for GA DUers, but I am convinced it would not have made a difference...Unseating an incumbant US Senator is hard enough. Doing so in an off-cycle run-off election, after a bruising 3-way National race where the incumbant still nearly won outright is nearly a vertical climb. Add to that the odds against a DEM--any DEM winning a statewide race in Georgia.....Martin tried to run as a blue dog, thinking that was mandatory. Maybe it is, I don't know, but he did not seem to TRY to capitalize on Obama's coattails...

I'm sorry Georgians. I lived there off and on for several years... I know Atlanta and Dekalb and Fulton Counties came through, along with the UGA crowd in Athens. It is just not enough against the Palin-attracted rural voters. We just have to keep chipping away, as has been the case in my home state, Colorado... Georgia will come around.
