It made the RePukes have to spend MILLIONS of bucks, and we put some more fear into their hearts in this GA Senate runoff. Sadly, DEMS/OBAMA supporters FAILED to turn out in big enough numbers to either win it or at least make it much closer. It would have been very hard to defeat a redneck INCUMBENT like Chambliss in that demographic area, but we should at least have been able to get within five points. Kudos to Martin for fighting so hard, but we just didn't get the turnout we neded to win or get closer. Who's fault is that? At some point, the voters have to take some responsibility. If GA Dems who live in the deep south want change, they have to somehow find a way to turn the tide in the region, and his has to ultimately be those who live there. A hard climb in the deep south though given history and overall demographics at this juncture. As older hardcore right wingers die off down there and younger generations take over, I think we'll continue to see shifts. Anyhow, this was not a rebuke of Obama in GA as the right wingers are saying now all over the blogs. It was a Dem turnout failure.

3. You're off base on both counts. It was Diebold, it was LOW DEM TURNOUT. We can't keep passing the

buck. There was only 35% overall turnout. Everything I'm hearing from the ground was LOW DEM/OBAmA SUPPORTER TURNOUT, PERIOD ! As to Lieberman, it's a done deal. He's back in charge of his committee, and don't forget that he votes eith Dems in the Senate 90% of the time. Sure, SHITTY that he turncoated to McSAME, but to be a viable national party we need a big tent. Just reality. So he's in, and the best thing to do is work with him to keep him voting Dem on most issues.

9. Obama is now the President-Elect, and he is trying to get ready

to take over that BIG job. BLAME Dem voters in GEORGIA, not Obama. He cut an ad or two, and plenty of other big name Dems came in to help Martin. A lot of money was spent. GA Dems didn't show. Blame THEM !

8. Exactly. It is a DEEP SOUTH solidly R state, also, Dem voters didn't turn out in

the numbers they needed to. Sad. However, Martin DID compete, Bill Clinton went there, Gore went there, and many others. The DSCC tried pretty damn hard, as did the DNC. So give all those folks credit. In the end, we were up against an R incumbent in a very red state. They spent millions, brought in every red neck big gun they could find (which they would NEVER have done if wasn't a race), ran a red meat campaign with nasty ads, mailers, and robo calls by the millions, and sadly out voters just didn't show in the numbers they needed to. This one is on the Dem voters there, not on the organizational apparatus that TRIED to make it a close contest.
