The US goes to war (covert and overt) for resources, mostly with small countries incapable of defending themselves, aside from the zealous fundamentalist that live there. Yet, when it comes to a country that willingly is their main oil importer (as well as a major trader in a variety of other resources), they can give two shits. Quite sad. Would that change tune if they entered exclusive contracts to sell their resources to China? I would think so.

11. Well, it IS nice to see Harper gone

But I don't know if I like how it's been done. I find it a bit un-nerving that a coalition with less seats than another party can be the government simply because a third party promises not to vote against them. Politics aside, I hope the Governor General says the BQ has to officially join the coalition in order for them to take power. Otherwise, we go to an election. We don't need that right now.

What impact does that have in either direction?

Since it would be a coalition, does this mean the NDP would have a major role in decision making or just more input?


It would be nice to see Harper booted. Would the new configuration lend itself to mischief making from the Conservatives still there as a strong minority or would that not be an issue?

21. Under this deal, the Libs and NDP become effectivly one party

Six NDP MPS would get cabinet positions. The Bloc's part is to just promise not to vote against them in anything. If the bloc votes against them for any reason then the coalition falls ans we're back to square one.

The cons can still do some damage, but not much.

since his 'mandate' got less than 38% of the vote. If he didn't want 'instability', then he should have done a deal with one or more parties to form a majority coalition. He has only himself to blame.

and he's paying for it now. He made some terrible policy decisions thinking the the opposition parties would take it and he was very wrong. He was on a vendetta to screw with them and it didn't work. He's the leader of a minority but he still thought he could bully the opposition.
He's got that I'll do what I want and damn the consequences demeanor that Chimp Boy is famous for.
