I've been looking at those numbers the past few days and they've had Al up by several thousand, so I knew they couldn't be right. That wasn't including the disputed ballots, etc. Those numbers can't be taken at face value.

18. I think you're misinterpreting their site.

Where they report "Nov. 4 Ballots Cast for Norm Coleman" and "Nov. 4 Ballots Cast for Al Franken" as 1,177,465 and 1,188,736 respectively, I believe THOSE numbers are the election day tallies for the precincts so far recounted. They THEN report the recount for those precincts as 1,174,964 for Coleman and 1,186,134 for Franken, which are LESS due to the challenges by both campaigns.

The election day margin for the precincts recounted so far was 11,271 in favor of Franken.
The recount margin for the precincts recounted so far is 11,170 in favor of Franken.
That's a 101-vote reduction in Franken's margin in the precincts so far recounted.
HOWEVER ... Coleman challenged 3,241 ballots and Franken challenged 3,085 ballots.
That's 156 votes (potentially) for Franken ... or 55 more votes for Franken, net ... if all challenges FAIL.

Now, we read "Precincts Recounted: 98.67% (4075 of 4130)" ... which means to me that Coleman prevailed in the original tally in THOSE PRECINCTS YET TO BE RECOUNTED ... 55 precincts to go.

At least that's how I read that site.

I see where you're getting your information, but I'm afraid it's not accurate.

None of the online Minnesota newspapers I've read show Al with any such lead.

The wires aren't reporting it either.

But I sure hope he wins. :bounce:
