If you where a suit and tie to work and shower before hand you get trillions of dollars with no strings attached without so much as a second thought.

If you work for a living and shower after work you can't even get 1% of that with terms and 5% interest.


I tell you, if the Big 3 were based in California we wouldn't even be having this debate, I think.

7. No. The banks came to Congress before the election.

The automakers came after the election. Congress went along with the bank bail-out because they didn't want it to be too much of an election issue. The Republicans would have pushed the economy into a disaster and then blamed Congress. The automakers will probably get the money, but they at least have to tell Congress what they will do with it.

Also, the banks may not get off easy for having pulled that fast one on the bail-outs. I remember Nancy Pelosi talking about possible claw-backs when Congress reconvenes.

11. It's amazing to me that when the bailout of Wall Street

was the topic, most politicians fell all over themselves to pass a bill with virtually no strings attached and no agreement on a payback (and we now know they have no idea where the money has gone so far). The automakers ask for a loan, A LOAN, and all of a sudden every politician is concerned about a detailed plan on how the money will be spent, worried about how much the workers make (and yes, the CEO's too, like the Wall Street boys aren't pulling down even more money for a bigger fuck up). I guess a white collar is more important because they contribute to campaigns....
