Men Dressed as Police Violently Rape a Woman

ISTANBUL (Cihan) - Disguised as police, five men in Istanbul tortured and raped a woman after breaking into a restaurant.

Turkish police forces caught the fake copes on Monday, after complains from the public for terrorizing people using police uniforms.

Security cameras helped police identify the criminals. The men are seen storming into a restaurant threatening and assaulting workers, and dragged a woman by the hair into what looks like a police car waiting outside. Officials have stated that the gang of 5 have tortured and raped a woman several times.

A group of five men wearing police vests raided a restaurant in İstanbul's Avcılar district over the weekend, arriving in a car mounted with police lights. When they entered, they attacked the people inside the restaurant with nightsticks and checked IDs. The gang attacked a woman who was working at the restaurant and dragged her outside by her hair.

During the incident the gang did not face any resistance. Afterwards they kept the woman for six hours and raped her. After they let her go she went to the real police. Two members of the gang were subsequently captured.

Öztürk Türkdoğan, chairman of the Human Rights Association (İHD), claimed that because society is intimidated by the police it is possible for a gang to raid a place and without any resistance to kidnap a woman.

Hyperbolic statements like the title of your reply don't help anybody. Responding to isolated instances of police misconduct by letting loose with a blanket characterization of the entire law enforcement profession in this country as a sadistic cabal of aspiring terrorizers of their communities is so amazingly stupid my brain may start dribbling out my ears from exposure to it. Here's a thought, try expressing your criticisms in accurate proportion to the offenses you are describing, and limiting them to the people actually guilty of the conduct you are speaking of instead of trying to tar an entire profession with one massive economy sized brush.
