3. The homeless shelters are stressed out around here, and the food banks are almost empty.
We get a lot of "snowbird" homeless here normally, because of our weather, but there have been such a massive influx of new homeless because of the bush depression the last 2 years, that the already meager operations set up to help them are stressed to the breaking point as well.

7. The problem is people have been watching the news.
the last 2 years the corporate owned media outlets have been saying everything is juuuuust fine, now spend spend spend, max out those credit cards, and don't forget to buy a big gas hogging SUV from ford made with electronic parts from Taiwan, engines from Mexico and steel smelted in China.

The corporate media just missed their target date of Jan 20th to start their "Obama recession" blitzkrieg, and are now being forced to start it a little early.

Love the latest whore media meme by the way...the recession / poor stock market is being cause by the fear of Obama raising taxes. :eyes:

17. Thank you for posting this - I thought it was just me, but
last week, I was watching the CBS evening news, and their consumer affairs correspondent kept shilling for the credit card industry, indicating to viewers that (and I am not kidding) "our current problems are due to 1) too much debt; and 2) frozen credit and so hopefully, the Federal Reserve/banking commissioner can do something about that so consumers can start putting things on their credit cards again." I was like, :wtf:

These overpaid media celebrities live in a glass bubble, like something out of Blade Runner or a science fiction movie like Brave New World, and they must not realize how stupid they sound, saying completely contradictory things within the space of 30 seconds.

13. I think your post had currency, oh, 60 days ago
When there were still morons who were jumping up and down, claiming the
economy was fundamentally sound.

That's what I'm talking about.

...who has claimed the economy is in good shape since Barack Obama won the election.

18. Hey you finally get it--"since Obama has won the election"
You need to get off the snide buddy. We are all supposed to be working together here.

Actually I should have added "this is not a recession...until Jan. 20th"

And don't you think it's a tad bit amazing how the sudden admittance, and blinding flash of the obvious, that that we may be in economic trouble by the Bush administration and their media mouthpieces coincided with Obama getting elected, and was just in time to beg for a push through of a a trillion dollars in "emergency funding" to the same bastards that have been doing the screwing?

You haven't been watching the news very closely it seems. The entire meme right now from the corporate media is "Obama recession," and "fear of Obama tax raises."

I'm saying we have been fucked since 2005...and the corporate media has been completely denying that to everyone since then, conveniently until just in time to empty out the last of the treasury. It's the exact same thing that happened back in 1992. The media is setting up the groundwork to try and pin this on Obama, just like they attempted to pin it all on Bill Clinton back in '92. Bush Sr. left office under the exact same circumstances as This bush...huge bailouts (that we are still paying for by the way), failing banks, stock market in the toilet, everything.

Obama had better get used to 8 years of this shit, because he aint seen nothing yet.
