Poll question: Stand up and be counted...Yea or Nay for the UAW?
Do you support (Want to keep, like, defend the right to collective bargaining) or not?

1. For the record...
I voted in SUPPORT of the Unions. I work for a union manufacturer (as a supervisor). Even though it can be challenging, I feel the union helps ALL workers. We make tires...and we are hurting right now...

6. Hell yes!
I'm MEBA, and I worked on an organizing drive with the UAW to get some OJT in organizing for my own union. It was a privilege to work with such fine people.

17. it was not the unions that caused this thing with the auto manufacturers
it's the fact that most incomes have stagnated for the past 10 years while everything else has gone up in price around them. The fact that more people have lost their jobs due to outsourcing, greed, and just plain lousy business planning of many corporations. Where the hell is an out of work, over educated person with two kids supposed to come up with $30,000.00 for an automobile? Gaud that's a lot of money.

21. I'll always be for Unions/UAW. My Dad witnessed the Auto-lite strike in 1934
when he was 16. He and his widowed Mom, my Grandma, later worked for Auto-lite. He was there when they closed the doors and he went on to work for another UAW factory. Without the UAW, he, my Mom and my sister(who had down syndrome) wouldn't have had the good medical benefits they had in their later years after my Dad's stroke. His pension, along with his social security allowed them to live a comfortable life, not wealthy but not having to worry or scrape by. His pension and prescription plan and medical insurance continued to help my Mom and sister after his death. All benefits negotiated by the UAW.
