Dear Senator Leahy and Representative Conyers
Please. There can be no compromise on testimony from Rove and Meirs. I don't know what political calculations you're currently tabulating, but I do know that folding to bush is the wrong thing to do. We need to hear from the political operatives in the White House. We deserve to hear from them, under oath in front of your committees. In part, at least, dems were voted into the majority in Congress last year, to hold the bush administration accountable. Not just for the Iraqi war debacle, but for domestic shenanigans.

Don't give in to bush's threats and demands. Don't try to calculate the political cost. Just issue those subpoenas and let the chips fall where they may.

Really, it's not to much to ask.

We're counting on you doing the right thing.

5. We shall see how good our Dems are at the bargaining table
Edited on Tue Mar-20-07 08:37 PM by jimshoes
Chimpy laid down his demands and asked for everything and then some. Any good manager would do the same. The next step is assessing the merits and weaknesses of the offer and counter with a knockout punch. Short of that, call his bluff and counter with even stronger demands. I think the future of our country depends on what transpires over the next few weeks. We seem to be bargaining from a position of strength because we are in the right and they know it. Time to call them to account.
