SCOTUS To Hear if Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe ... Qualify to be President
Just so you all know, This nation is in GRAVE danger!!!

The SCOTUS is going to entertain a RW hack who questions if being born in the United States makes Obama qualified to be the president of the United States.

Did you know Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Adams were NOT born in the United States!!!! NOPE, they were born in British America. Hmmmmmmmmmm

7. Actually, that's not a bad idea......
The right wing idiots are claiming that Obama was somehow "born in Kenya" even though his birth certificate says Hawaii.

Kenya was a British colony in 1961. So assuming the Freeper bullshit were true (which it isn't) that would still leave Obama every bit as qualified to be President as the first 6 British born Presidents were.

10. Wrong.
The Constitution states that you have to be a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. As far as I know, Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe were all citizens at the time the Constitution was adopted.

http://caselaw.lp.findlaw.com/data/constitution/article02/
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

11. This, like FISA , is a stain that that won't go away.
Bush was never elected yet there he sits, the illegitimate impostor sleeps in Al Gore's bed. Obama wasn't born here as is constitutionally mandated but then again the Constitution hasn't mattered in a long time.

Nothing will come of this challenge except perhaps a back door continuation of the Bush regime because there's not a constitutionally elected President to replace him. I only throw that out as a jaded observer who has watched to much improv, there will be no special election.

17. All over, any place except here.
This is of no importance to me personally really but the world wide consensus is that he was born in Kenya, at least that's the way his grandmother remembers it, she was there evidently.

At the risk of offending the heavy hitting true backers of DU and giving you a direct route, I suggest you go to
http://www.buzzflash.com/ and scroll to the bottom of the page. Click on any international news media listed and use their search function for...Obama, birth certificate, controversy, the issue is in courts and appeals as we speak.

Once again, I don't have a horse in this race, but some short-cuts to the controversy:

18. The state of Hawaii disagrees with you.
Obama’s Hawaii birth certificate confirmed: http://www.bizjournals.com/pacific/stories/2008/10/27/daily60.html

Hawaii has two major newspapers, the Honolulu Advertiser and the Star Bulletin. Both had birth announcements on August 4, 1961 announcing the birth of a son to Mr. and Mrs. Barack H. Obama. This can be seen on microfilm in Hawaiian libraries.

15. Once and for all, this needs to be clarified and written into the constitution
Personallyh, I think it should be OK if BOTH parents were citizens, regardless of where you were born.. Imagine the chagrine of a missionary couple, tending the flock in a foregn country..their offspring born abroad could never be president..

It should be :

born in the USA or on a military installation abroad
born to 2 american citizens , if born outside the USA(not on a military installation)
Must have LIVED IN the USA for the 15 years preceding the run for office
One could be BORN here, move abroad, and return to the US at age 30.. It;s unlikely that they would be popular enough to win, but with only 5 years in-country, they would not have much experience here, but would technically be eligible
