Cheney led effort to discredit Iraq critic Wilson: testimony

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A White House aide testified in court Thursday that Vice President Dick Cheney personally led the 2003 effort to discredit Iraq war critic Joseph Wilson.

Martin, who in 2003 was a spokewsoman for Cheney, testified that the vice president ordered her to monitor all print and television news reports on Wilson after the former ambassador went public with his criticism.

"The vice president told me to keep track of this story," and press aides immediately "began monitoring television commentators" in addition to print reports about Wilson, she said.

Martin also testified that she clearly remembered telling both Cheney and Libby that Wilson's wife worked for the CIA days before Libby said he first learned of it.

Martin also became the fourth US official to testify that Libby knew about Plame before he talked to a prominent television reporter on July 10, 2003, as he had maintained under oath.

If the Libby-Plame trial helps Republicans then it is a planned set up. Republicans may want to replace Mr. Cheney to give incumbancy to a 2008 candidate for President or VP and this deal may have been manipulated for political reasons. In my opinion Uday & Quisay Hussein, Ken Lay, and Saddam Hussein deaths' were faked and they are alive and wellin some think tank trying to figure out ways to kill our brave soldiers and put the USA under Marshall Law. So if Mr. Cheney up and dies he could be the fifth death scam of the Administration.
