7. I stopped watching broadcast news in 2004

and I've never gotten into the habit of cable news. In fact, I only tune into Olbermann when I've read here that he's going to blast somebody in the last 5 minutes. Or I wait for the You Tube.

Life is too short to sit around goggle eyed, being lied to.

The evening news was only a habit: make some food, sit down, flip on the set, get the nightly propaganda hour. Putting some good music on or watching a Simpsons rerun were better habits.

The only time I ever watch is when I try to time the weather forecast. At least that has a chance of being correct, unlike the rest of the program.

but she's my governor, and I'm stuck with her for another two years, and her actions here in Alaska make it abundantly clear that she's got "plans." Mostly I'm keeping my Palin posts to the Alaska forum and my journal, unless she does something especially noteworthy, but I don't think we can afford to ignore her completely. She has an impassioned following, whether we like it or not.

and especially not on things like her alleged "not pregnancy," which is really a nonissue, in my opinion, but I think I'll still keep posting updates in the Alaska forum on more substantive things. Then if people are interested, they'll know where to look. Posts in the state forums don't show up on the "latest" page, so you won't even have to know they're there. :)
