And I'm willing to give the remake a chance.

I'd rather that Hollywood spend time crafting new science fiction films; there are a plethora of great novels that could be brought to the big screen.

The second remake of "The Invasion of the Body Snatchers" was excellent, so not all remakes are duds. (Mercifully forgetting "Invasion" and Burton's "Planet of the Apes.")
