Mike Huckabee said the party needs to move away from the "mushy middle" and become more conservative
On Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes" recently, Mike Huckabee said Saxby Chambliss' win in Georgia shows the solution to GOP ills: the party needs to move away from the "mushy middle" and become more conservative.

Oh please, please! I hope they do!! If they get any more conservative, they can change their name to Talibaptists.

1. Atta boy, Mike. Take Barbie right over the cliff while you're at it.
You two on a '12 ticket would finish the GOP for decades.

10. It would certainly hasten the progress
of fiscally wrongheaded people from the GOP to the Libertarians.

The GOP seems intent on marginalizing itself. After their 28 years of bungling, obstruction, and catastrophic bungling, that's a good thing.

to pat robertson, james dobson & rick warren. That ought to seal its fate.

4. they need to move MUCH farther to the right.
They need to openly advocate a military theocracy. Rights are for commies! Rights are for commies!

The New Republican Bill of Rights:

1. Everyone has the right to choose the fundamentalist Christian church they wish from the list of government-approved fundamentalist Christian churches.

2. Everyone has the absolute, uncontrolled, unregulated right to have any kind of firearm or other weapon they wish.

That is all we need. Other than that, people should just shut up and pray.

6. If they do they they will completely and permanently marginalize themselves
as a party appealing only to religious wackos in the deepest and dumbest areas of Jeezusland.

So I say that's exactly what they should do. And if they wanna secede again. let 'em. Palin could give them some advice on how to do it.

7. I saw a poll
Edited on Sun Dec-07-08 01:25 PM by NOW tense
That showed Huckster and Painlin at the top of the list for 2012.

It will be interesting just how conservative they want to be. I can see it now with these two wack-jobs telling folksy stories of shooting squirrel and moose from 2010 to 2012.

14. No, no, no, the GOP needs to become wildly liberal, run up ten trillion dollar deficits,
embark on massively expensive "foreign adventures," tear up the Constitution and the rule of law, forget all this "strict constructionist" crapola and really go for the golden rings--torture, indefinite detention without trial, massive domestic spying, and liberty for all "conservative" pole cats and corpo-wads to loot, plunder, sack and destroy everything in sight, and go on taxpayer-funded LIBERTY to the slave girls in Saipan and the boy jockeys kept by the sheiks of araby. Lust, rapine, pillaging and immorality! That's the ticket for the GOP! And blood, blood, blood--a million slaughtered in Iraq, tens of thousands in Afghanistan. Oh, the snuff videos! Oh, wow, the FUN party! The cocaine straight from our fellow mass murderers in Colombia party! The Grand Ol' PARTY party! The loot them til they die of starvation party! The pirates raiding party! The skull and crossbones Black Flag party that every young capitalist dreams of. TOTAL LIBERTY.

Oh, wait, they did that. Time to find Jesus. He was a conservative, right?

15. I think he's correct.. The republican party NEEDS to be far right
I hope they stay far right.. so far right that no moderate ever even thinks of voting for them again..

Then they need to just take that final leap, and change their name to what they really want to be..

The White Christian Party

16. This country should be uniting, not...
Creating polar opposite sides (though the Dems tend to be more centrist). It seems like some Republicans want to move further Right, which will just alienate more voters.

What we need is for both Repubs and Dems to be progressive.
