MYSTERIOUS CRITICAL GAP (Several Weeks) In DOJ Doc Dump
In DOJ documents that were publicly posted by the House Judiciary Committee, there is a gap from mid-November to early December in e-mails and other memos, which was a critical period as the White House and Justice Department reviewed, then approved, which U.S. attorneys would be fired while also developing a political and communications strategy for countering any fallout from the firings.

11. Nope, it's the Grand Oligarchy of Parrots
That is to say, a large, self-appointed group of birdbrains who learn their talking points by rote and then sqwawk them out loudly for days on end, never showing any comprehension of what they are saying and unable to say anything else.

5. Nixon's gap was only 18 minutes
While *'s gap amounts to several weeks.

Another example of why * is infinitely worse than Tricky Dick at his worst.

I used to think Americans would never fall so low as to accept another sleazebag like Nixon into the nation's highest office.

Just like I used to think we had learned our lesson with the Vietnam war disaster, and would never allow our country to be roped into another pointless deadly military debacle again. I used to think, when I protested the Vietnam war in 1969-73, that I might not have to protest any more insane wars.

It's depressing to find that we never seem to learn.

But if Nixon resigned before impeachment, maybe this time around we'll get impeachment and maybe even jail terms!

21. A very critical gap, imo
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 12:00 PM by Spazito
The last e-mails in November (the 15th I believe) detail the need to get the okay on the "plan" from "Karl's shop" etc, and then there is nothing in the document dump until Dec.4th when the plan has been put into place.

It is very telling, imo, that in that last November e-mail, "Karl's shop" is seen as an essential "pre-execution" contact.

Here is the Nov.15 e-mail:

-----Original Message-----
From: Kyle.Sampson
Sent: Wednesday, November 15, 2006 11:02 AM
To: Kelley, William K.; Miers, Harriet
Cc: Paul.J.McNulty@
Subject: USA replacement plan
Importance: High

Harriet/Bill, please see the attached. Please note (1) the plan, by its terms, would commence this week; (2) I have consulted with the DAG, but not yet informed others who would need to be brought into the loop, including Acting Associate AG Bill Mercer, EOUSA Director Mike Battle, and AGAC Chair Johnny Sutton (nor have I informed anyone in Karl's shop, another pre-execution necessity I would recommend); and (3) I am concerned that to execute this plan properly we must all be on the same page and be steeled to withstand any political upheaval that might result (see Step 3); if we start caving to complaining U.S. Attorneys or Senators then we shouldn't do it -- it'll be more trouble than it is worth.

We'll stand by for a green light from you. Upon the green light, we'll (1) circulate the below plan to the list of folks in Step 3 (and ask that you circulate it to Karl's shop), (2) confirm that Kelley is making the Senator/Bush political lead calls, and (3) get Battle making the calls to the USAs. Let us know.
