Just, sadly, like some here on DU who haven't had to live with Blago. Bottom line, Democrats in this state regretted ever voting for this POS even before this incident and if this shitstain doesn't resign in the next couple days, you'll see the Democrats in this state take care of matters. Ther is no GOOP here, for a good reason, no matter how corrupt Blago is, he was nothing compared the pay-for-play the GOOP did (why Ryan is still in the shitter). Blago fits right there with him...as I say, I doubt there's a Democrat in this state, other than his paid staff, who will defend this slimeball.
That said, Blago IS NOT Chicago...he lives there, but he long ago burnt bridges as if he was a party to himself. There's no connection to Obama or anyone else other than through acquaintances. Blago didn't work on Obama's campaign...if anything, they made sure he wasn't involved and it was cause so many people in this state can't stand the dude. Yes, voters here fucked up big time...but it's not the first time...and it's up to us to straighten this latest mess out.
The silver lining is Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn is a strong Progressive. He said yesterday he hadn't talked to Blago since 2006, and that was when Quinn crashed a press conference that Blago tried to keep him out of.
I have ZERO tolerance for GOOPers who try to pin this mess on anyone...especially with their high degree of "accountability" of their own. Hell, the Democrats have one bad apple, the GOOP has a whole rotten orchard.
