The US Attorneys? The FBI? The Justice Department? The White House? All of the above?
It is troublesome that George W Bush and Dick Cheney are monitoring the illegal actions of anybody else. Who is monitoring them? Obviously, no one.
This White House has spied upon and eavesdropped on whomever they wish without warrants or cause. Were they really trying to drop the hammer on the Illinois Governor or was it all connected to their political enemies? Would it be OK if they spied on Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in the process of spying on the Illinois Governor? Did the US Attorney, Fitzgerald, do this investigation idependently or did he have guidance from up above? That is a question I have not seen answered yet?
My problem with this whole FBI spying network is that it never leaves the hands of the Republican machine. Just as they investigated Bill Clinton during his 8 years in office. Is the FBI just another branch of the Republican Party? I hate to think that George W Bush will be sitting in an office in Dallas collecting information on Democratic leaders even after he is long gone from office. But, I am not totally assured that will not be the case. Something is askew here.
