CHICAGO (AP) - He's being denounced by politicians from all sides, and ridiculed by the late-night comedians.
He's been arrested on corruption charges, and President-elect Barack Obama is among those who says he should step down.
But a spokesman for Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich says the governor is in an "upbeat, positive mood." The spokesman says, "There's a sense of trying to return to normalcy."
Blagojevich has been at work in his Chicago office today and Wednesday, despite the cloud hanging over him for allegedly plotting to put Obama's Senate seat on the auction block.

What motivated the alleged money grab by Governor Blagojevich? It may be sizeable legal bills. By late October, Gov. Rod Blagojevich had been in the crosshairs of a federal investigation for three years. For that entire period, the powerhouse law firm of Winston and Strawn was standing behind him.
But sources familiar with the situation say that Winston and Strawn wanted to be paid for back legal fees and Blagojevich needed money. The governor's open tab at the law firm was already at $2 million according to legal sources.
The firm told Blagojevich that he needed to pay his outstanding bill by the end of the year.
Blago didn't pay and the law firm dropped him.
