CAUTION!
Attendance at this event
may be monitored by the
Kansas Republican Party
Loyalty Commission

Our county GOP just revoked the voting privileges in their party elections from any precinct chairs who supported any non-GOP candidates in the recent election. Put up a yard sign for a Democrat, lose your right to vote for the county GOP leaders.

(Hey, it's freakin Kansas. Don't expect reasonable GOPers here.)

3. LOL - near me in PA there is a huge handpainted sign in a yard...
...next to a McCain-Palin campaign sign.

It reads: BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

4. You can spot those GOP Loyalty Commision folks
by the brown shirts they are wearing. Their shoes are really shiny, too. Moon 'em!

9. I think you'll find that most state Democratic party rules are the same.
If you're a precinct chair, you are required to support the party ticket. I don't have a problem with that. Now, the spying on the event is pretty damn funny.

11. I have never had to sign a loyalty oath to the Democratic party
I find it hard to believe any state or local Democratic parties would require that.

12. Not "sign a loyalty oath," no
but I think you'll find, if you look in almost any party rules, that it is required for the officials of the party to support the slate. In fact, I can put my finger right on the chapter and verse in the TDP rules:

3. Acceptance by any person of a Party Office and participation in that capacity constitutes an agreement to the provision in the Statement of Principles that “every person who accepts a Party Office at any level (including the positions of Convention Delegate and Alternate) must agree to support all of the Party’s nominees or shall be subject to removal.”

10. That party is marching itself toward the fringe
so wave and cheer as they go.

They're becoming more extreme in their views and more strict in their enforcement of loyalty.

I saw that happen to the left in the early 70s. I'm cheering my lungs out now that it's happening to the right.
