the foolishness of Corker and Shelby - they knoweth not what they bring.
On one level, their strange position on labor, unions, domestic autos and national health care is understandable. They are trying to pull a Clinton II, attack at every possible moment, stop all efforts to instill change, to throw sand in the gears of government and to distance themselves from common sense decisions.

That's all fine. That's the Republican way. Or at least, since the Newt who stole Gingrich was a minor prince in the House. Obstruction and lower taxes, no unions, no health care, and last but not least, their peculiar cult of christianity. That's their creed and their excuse.

Corker, Shelby, and others don't get it. For them, the potential loss of 2 million jobs is a measure of success, in that they killed that bit of socialism - a labor movement. They ignore, don't care, or most likely, don't understand the pain and suffering that they cause to 8 millions, if not more, as a result. They ignore at their risk something else, something that they are too stupid to understand.

One of the rallying cries of the GOP is the support of the right to bear arms. Well, many of them who they are evicting from home and job, and whose medical care will be cut happen to own guns.

Now, please understand, this is not a threat. This is not wishful thinking. This is not an effort to direct someone's future action or suggest a target to them. However, when 2,000,000 workers end up out of work, with no money, no health care, no hope, and no other choice, is it possible that one of them will take that gun of theirs and pay a visit to Shelby and Corker? You betcha.

It is not the liberals who started this class war. It was, and is, the GOP attacking our lifestyle, our gains, our rights, and our benefits. And it is they who shall reap the unhappy benefits and results because of it.

Seriously, if they win this battle against the UAW, they had better watch their backs. Because there may be a large circular target painted on them.

To those who scoff at the suggestion, I highly recommend a quick look at Russia, Georgia, Serbia, Iraq, Yemen, Sudan, Haiti, and a whole host of other nations and regions where a civilized, safe, and comfortable lifestyle was ripped apart and turned into a war zone. America is not immune from such events and the actions of Shelby, Cornyn, Corker, and other GOP buffoons makes it even more likely to happen here.

1. They are ignorant men who have based their careers on
appealing to the worst and most ignorant people in their states, mostly as men who'd tweak snobbish Yankee noses out of joint as their main purpose in the Senate.

Well, I think even the most ignorant people in the south and midwest are dimly starting to realize that we can't afford this sort of show business in tough times, and our times are tough and getting much tougher. Antics that are entertaining and give a vicarious macho thrill in good times will become annoying as hell in bad times.

This might have been their last hurrah. Or ye-haw. Whatever. I think their day is over and they'll soon be voted out.

4. Corker might be the most pathetic Senator to come along in decades.

That is not to say that he doesn't have stiff competition.

Still.

6. Saul Alinsky
You should recommend TweedleDumb and TweedleDumber read Saul Alinsky. One of the points he makes in his writings is that trouble starts not with those who have nothing, or those who have lots. It starts with those who have a little and want more. Take away what they have, make them face the fact that they exist only to serve their betters, and you are filling out a prescription for revolution and terrorism.

The main difference this time? The media is NOT backing the GOPuke lies, and people are getting to hear and see the fact that these loons are willing to let millions of people lose their jobs and livelihoods and homes and futures to suit their obscene ideology. They have the principles of whores and the heartlessness of a gang of sociopaths.

The Second Amendment may come in handy after all.

7. good ref.
I suspect that the GOoPer playbook has this "obstruct at every avenue" instruction, with no consideration of the impact of their acts. I wonder if the GOP realizes how close to societal upheaval we are.

The brits at the end of the 19th century were in a similar position, with one major difference. There, they were not trying to take away rights - because during the industrial revolution, such rights did not exist. rather, they were greatly afraid that the masses would stand up and revolt. Child labor was common, there were no such things as vacations, no Workers Comp, no health care, nothing but suffering or dying.

Our GOPers have never felt the fear that the industrial giants of the 1890s felt whenever there was another story of a 7 yr old crushed in a looming machine. But they will. Because they are too stupid to see history repeat itself, and too willfully ugly and greedy to figure out how to prevent the uprising.

8. Don't forget Jim DeMint: Warns of "RIOTS" if Big-3 bailout goes through.
“We’re going to have riots. There are already people rioting because they’re losing their jobs when everybody else is being bailed out. The fairness of it becomes more and more evident as we go along. The auto companies may be hurting,” he said, but “there are very few companies that aren’t hurting and they’re going to hurt. We don’t have enough money to bail everyone out.”

10. They should lead the way. Congress will give up their plush pensions and medical benefits and take a
reduction in pay. The country is going under we cannot afford to pay them.
