Foreign Cars Targeted By Vandals
WOODHAVEN, Mich. -- It seems the economic conditions and the auto industry crisis is turning some Americans against Americans.

Woodhaven police said four cars on Friday, all produced by foreign carmakers, had two tires slashed and "Buy USA" written on them, WDIV-TV reported.

Police said three of the cars were parked in a strip mall in Woodhaven that sits next to a Ford stamping plant.

Kim Lebecki's 2009 Toyota Camry was one of the four targeted by the vandal.

"I work very hard to make the payment to drive the car of my choice in the United States and someone else has the audacity to destroy these vehicles," Lebecki said. "It saddens me to think, 'Is this a UAW member who did this?'"

One of incidents was caught on a security tape. A red Ford Escape is seen pulling into a parking space, a middle-aged man can be seen approaching a red foreign car and slashing both tires. The man can also be seen writing a message on the car before leaving.

"We don't have any positive evidence to link a Ford employee with this incident," said Lt. Robert Harabedian, of the Woodhaven Police Department.

12. No false flags just gullible people.
Shrewd conniving people (the kind that have created many problems for America) will figure out ways to stir up public opposition against their opposition, meaning against organized labor, etc. It's worked that way for many years and the controlled media and the gullible accept it as gospel. There are more than a few who are not that our government has not told us the truth about Oklahoma City, 9-11, and why we are now in Iraq.

22. False flag by whom? Foreign car owners?
Not a chance.

Foreign car owners don't hate those who choose American cars. They aren't looking for sympathy either.

It's certain elements of the "Buy American" crowd who are filled with hate and anger at the economic choices & preferences of others.

31. I can remember as a kid...
Driving past the Lordstown GM plant with my father and listening to him complain about half the cars in the parking lot being foreign made. (Dad was a union man) He always said they were screwing themselves buying foreign.

To this day, whenever I drive past that same plant, I still see a remarkable number of foreign cars in the lot.

13. What about those who destroyed Hummers?
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289888,00.html

When Gareth Groves brought home his massive new Hummer, he knew his environmentally friendly neighbors disapproved. But he didn't expect what happened next. The sport utility vehicle was parked for five days on the street before two masked men smashed the windows, slashed the tires and scratched into the body: "FOR THE ENVIRON."

HUNDREDS of stories about eco-vandalism to Hummers, And I remember DU members approving and not getting tombstoned.

I guess it depends which side of the labor sidewalk you walk on here.

30. I remember that thread.
Some people have an effed up mind to cheer this crap on, doesn't matter who the vehicle was made by either even if its a hummer.

15. Many Americans worship their cars, but I think you're taking it a bit to the extreme.
Have you ever seen a church burn down, and the scramble to save it and what's in it, or the impact it has on an entire community?

Somehow, I doubt it. Unbelievable that you can draw such a ridiculous parallel.

Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 01:51 AM by MazeRat7
Granted a car impacts far fewer than a church. However, to make that statement you must argue degrees which I'm not willing to do since only cowards (eg vandals) engage in such activity.

Peace,

6. Even though I agree with the "Buy American" sentiment, I have a hard
time reconciling vandalism and destruction of anyone's property. This is going to turn quite ugly if the Southern Repubs get their way.

8. 35 years of traitorous behavior in Congress
and from our Presidents (and I include Mr. NAFTA) have set the USA up for a major economic fall.

We pay these bastards and they screw us. I listened to Senator fvcking Corker the other day railing against the right of American workers to expect help from our government, and to have middle class lifestyle and at that moment I realized that he and his GOP peers are obviously traitors to the USA.

Traitor being defined as: 1 : one who betrays another's trust or is false to an obligation or duty 2 : one who commits treason

Their obligation is to the USA. But they have consistently worked against the interests of 300 million Americans and for only the interests of those multi-national fortune 500 companies and their own campaign war chests. Osama Bin Laden would be proud.

9. But that will be what it comes down to
When the Auto Workers are out of work, hungry and angry, they will start taking revenge. I wouldn't want to be in an auto town like Detroit with a foreign car when that violence breaks out.
Right or wrong, this is where it is headed.

11. Perhaps there's a similar explanation for arson damage at Sarah Palin's home church.
Bethlehem is across the ocean in a foreign land. Buying or selling of foreign religion puts home-grown American religion at risk. Why should Mormons tolerate the competition?

17. These are the actions of cowards...
I drive American vehicles because it's my choice. My religion is my choice. And its my choice not to shop at Walmart... This is America and people have the right to make their own choices without having to fear the actions of cowards. I truly hope that this is not the act of a UAW worker, as claimed by the victim; It surely would not help their cause.

20. Stupid never goes out of style.
Vandalism to foreign-made cars is not new in Michigan It's been going on forever. I recall vividly how concerned my then-significant-other was of driving a foreign car while also holding a job at a Big3 plant. Car-keying was the vogue. That was over fifteen years ago. Some things never change.
