1. did you read the replies?
Evidently he WAS recognized, and by a parent who wants to find him. I hope help is on it's way for him, and his glorious buddy.

The photo had me in tears - I had a german shepherd who would sit in my lap the very same way.

4. Local grocery store was robbed today. People are starving.
How long do we have to bail out the wealthy?

7. My SO worked in a transitional housing facility and brought her street-rescued pit bull
in as a therapy dog (well, not licensed and certified, more as a friend). Lucy. The clients were the "most vulnerable" which translates into the most dysfunctional. Lucy was brilliant - dodging kicks from some, hanging back from the fearful, approaching those who wanted some sort of contact. Very effective with many, bringing love and caring into lives that had nearly lost any hope of either. But one in particular was a very withdrawn woman who only began talking to anyone when she began talking to that dog. A few years later SO encountered that woman with a small dog clutched closely in her arms. She explained that her connection to (love with) Lucy had been so important to her that she had negotiated all the hurdles and was now living independently, indoors, so she could have a dog like Lucy (emotionally, not in appearance) in her life.

8. This makes me sad also, but...
maybe you can help someone in need.

Call your local school. Ask to speak to the social worker. He/She can point you to a family in need. It will be anonymous, but you will make someone's life a little brighter.

Do it, if you are able. You can make it happen. It doesn't have to be a lot. Anything is more than these poor among us have.

Find it within yourself.
