2. The story continued for five minutes.

The story that took the rear seat behind this one was the power outage in the northeast.

They said shoe thrower lost family members in the war and he had been kidnapped previously.

9. It's hard enough to disapprove of this act
Knowing the man's background, I actually regret he didn't aim lower and throw harder.

6. I love it. This is what his visit will be remembered for. That, and his idiotic response.
The man is truly a psychopath. He thinks the Iraqis worship him as a god. He just doesn't get it, and never will.

7. I was watching football at a local bar and when news of this was shown some people laughed
a few clapped but a lot of them were upset that somebody would do this to the president of the united states. I would say that more than half were outraged by it. Probably what the country as a whole will feel. I was in the minority--as long as it wasn't a bomb or a gun I laughed and said "good for you" and so did my friends.

13. I'm outraged that the president of my home
DESERVES to have shoes thrown at him.
That, and MUCH worse. Bush is a POS.

15. Yes, that is what I understand.
The shoe is a sign of disrespect in Iraq, i.e., bottom of the sole. Shameful it must come to this.
