My first and last compliment to Bush
After watching the video 1000 times now, I don't think I could have reacted and ducked that fast.I'm pretty sure he would have beaned me with the first one.If not,the second one for sure.

1. Tell me why
He's about my age, and I don't think our reflexes are as good as they used to be, but maybe I'm wrong.

How did he manage to duck TWO shoes? That second one came awfully close.

I hate that he managed to duck the shoes, just like he ducked responsibility for everything else these past eight years.

6. Well,I'm 52 and that shoe was moving at a really fast pace.
That second shoe just barely missed him. And frankly,my first dumb thought would have been "why is that guy taking off his shoe"?no doubt it would have hit my head before I finished the thought.

2. Well, if you were Bush, you'd be used to people throwing things at you by now...

3. I'm surprised. He's usually falling down drunk. The shoe-thrower caught Bush on a clear day.

5. I was surprised, as well.
His reaction time was pretty good, but ducking kinda sucks. When you duck, your center of gravity shifts and a secondary reaction is difficult.

I would have turned away, keeping watch over my right shoulder.

10. If he would've caught the shoe(s), *then* I would be impressed.
As it is, this is simply a perfect microcosm of his whole life.

11. I actually thought Baby Caligula handled the whole thing pretty well. I hope the Shoe Guy is okay...
I mean, really, that guy could be in a world of hurt right now.

12. Or, he's being handled as a hero
Given how hated Fuckface is in Iraq, it might be that the journalist just did what everyone wanted to do.

I read that his employer, a TV station, is backing him all the way, which I heartily support.
