1. So okay, Karl is going to oppose Holder. How many votes does it
take to confirm? Do we have them. He can scream and holler all he wants if we have the votes.

2. Karl opposes Holder because he knows
Holder will send a Fitzgerald type after him and his KKKarl Rove crimes against the Constitution and America.

Ha..Ha.. Karl is afraid otherwise he would be sitting in retirement counting his stolen loot.

6. Holder is a corporatist shill who defended the murder of thousands of Colombians.
It appears Obama's team either did not know this (Unfuckingforgivable) or they are bowing to the big money (equally unfuckingforgivable).

Obama could stop this with an announcement that his team made a mistake in Holder's vetting process and he has decided to withdraw the nomination. Then appoint someone who isn't on the record as a supporter of right-wing death squads.

This is our President-elect's first big bungle.

And easy picking for Karl and his gang.

8. Yes. He's the guy who was mistaken for Terry Nichols and murdered by the police in
Oklahoma City. What does this have to do with Eric Holder, Texas Explorer?

10. Kenny Trentadue's brother Jesse claims that Holder
covered up the murder. I've heard him on the radio but I don't know what to think about Holder's part in the case. I was really hoping someone here could clear it up.

14. holder did not defend Chiquita. Period.
He represented them in negotiations with the JD. Different thing altogether. And conflating an attny with a client, is almost always absurd. To state that Holder is a supporter of right wing death squads is simply a smear.

15. Working for a private law firm, Eric Holder took on the role of DEFENDING them by
covering up the specific individuals involved in the case and by affecting the amount and timing of the the punitive damages payment to the victims.

As some poster pointed out, every criminal is entitled to a defense. That is correct; however, it is my opinion that the United States Attorney General should not be an attorney with a track record of trying to hide the identity of corporate executives who hire and supply paramilitary units to suppress the people of a foreign nation.

Eric Holder was a willing participant in keeping corporate criminals from receiving justice for heinous crimes against the people of Colombia. He could have told his bosses that his conscience would not allow him to represent such people and could have bowed out of the proceedings. Of course, it may have cost him his job and maybe even his subsequent nomination to be AG, but we certainly wouldn't expect an honest, upstanding American lawyer to do anything like that, would we?

For more information on this please go to http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dan-kovalik/lawyer-for-chiquita-in-co_b_141919.html

If Eric Holder is the best lawyer to represent the people as Attorney General of the United States, we are FUCKED!!

16. There are literally thousands of qualified attorneys in this country who could serve well
as Attorney General of the United States. You have Fitzgerald on the brain due to all the media exposure with the Blagojevich case. There's no reason for Fitzgerald to be the AG, regardless of the outcome of Holder's hearings.

MoJo blog: The Obama admin will be defense of Miers and Bolton Jan. 20...perhaps Rove as well.

I had not been paying attention to this, but it is setting up an interesting scenario.

On January 20, his administration will become the de facto defense counsel for Miers and Bolten. The Justice Department has been defending the White House's executive privilege claims in the lawsuit brought by the House Judiciary Committee against Miers (though Miers and Rove also have retained private attorneys) and Bolten to enforce the subpoenas. The committee had sought Miers' testimony about the dismissal of US attorneys in 2006 and had asked Bolten to turn over a log explaining which documents the White House was denying the committee as part of that request.
