Did you notice that Obama has no southerners in his cabinet?
Because this article did. In my opinion, that's not such a bad thing. Southerners have controlled things for decades now. Then again, the article claims that Hillary Clinton is somehow not a southerner. :eyes:

3. Actually, I wish he did have some Southerners in the cabinet.
One of the problems, for example, in Tennessee, is that we don't have any well-recognized Democrats anymore. No one who can overcome the gays, guns and gawd Republicans by sheer personality and popularity.

We need to be grooming some Southern Democrats to run for statewide offices - people who are more recognized than Bob Tuke to take on Corker and/or Alexander, for example. The only way we can start winning is to run people that voters have, um, actually heard of. A cabinet Dem would be recognizable.

But, um, the article's right: Hillary is from Chicago. She's not a Southerner.

10. Some of the campaign advisors were Southerners
Sam Nunn, Bob Graham are the two that immediately come to mind. Hillary Clinton was born in Illinois though she spent a lot of her life in Arkansas with Bill.

Frankly, with the trend the South has been in since the 60s, I'm just as happy that Obama has not appointed any Southerners. Although I am a Floridian, I am not pleased with the recent history of this part of the country.

13. Well, GWB is "from" Texas and had southerers in his cabinet and he still let a major southern city
New Orleans wither away after the hurricane something yankee Obama never would have let happen.

14. I hadn't noticed, nor do I care. I HAD noticed that they are all AMERICANS.
The RW wants us divided. Regionalism works very well for them but not for us. I don't want to play that game.

WE ARE ALL AMERICANS.

15. Who cares where they're from?
Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Jimmy Carter are all from the south, while Palin, Romney, Giuliani and Lieberman are not.

Geography doesn't mean anything.
