Howard Fineman on KO made some brilliant comments
Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 08:16 PM by malaise
about Bush and the Shoe legacy. The truth is that Bush doesn't care how he is viewed by anyone, but the world made up their mind about this one. I can't remember better symbolism for his legacy.

I'm betting that on the day Bush dies, they'll show this over and over.
Bush is now PWNED to the grave by Muntadhar al-Zeidi.
add.

1. Keith keeps playing the shoe-throwing clip and I keep laughing.
The guy from Time was pretty good too. Good insight as to how low Iraqis view Bush, and by extension, America.

3. What's his take
on this whole ..two shoes thrown at bush by an Iraqi reporter?

And, didn't I read that the reporter had been captured and tortured at one point?

This is surprising because it seems to me Fineman was always one who propped up the bush regime.

5. Fineman has been brutal to Bush for a couple of weeks
I think the economic situation must have cost him a lot of dough or somethin'.

9. Thanks, grasswire.
Nothing like having a constant presence of the corporatemedia getting the facts out on bush.

6. They all have their moments
He's been scathing recently. Maybe he's free at last.

He thinks the shoe throwing was definitive lasting statement.

7. The impact is identical
and I don't really like violence. I too have mixed feelings on that. He'll never get over this - no historian will let him escape this one. That's the best part.

10. Did somebody count how many times KO showed that shoe bomber hurling his shoe?
I laughed every time, but I don't remember how many times I laughed.

A lot.

12. I won't be one of them.
I am of the school that when somebody like him dies and you can't say anything nice about him, don't say anything at all.

I expect I will be silent.

14. I'm pretty sure Bush cares a lot what people think about him
or else they wouldn't be wasting the last 60 days of his presidency on a PR campaign to talk up his presidency. He sure as hell wouldn't be in Iraq. Truth is all Bush has cared about is his legacy and he can't believe people actually hate him. He deep down believes he's a genius and eventually we're all going to figure this out. Is doesn't get how suck ass his presidency was.
