I'm Getting Sick Of Gretta on Washington Journal (C-Span)
A Dcmocratic caller mistakes the name of the wife of Phil Gram and Gretta jumps right in and corrects his error and gives him new information, the correct name of Gram's wife. However if a Replican caller got on the air and said Bush won the Nobel Peace Prize and she wouldn't say a word to contradict them. Same thing day after day when she's on - Republicans can say no wrong and Democrats get nailed.

1. Push the off button. I did. It's fun and satisfying.

4. I Don't Think It's Very Satisfying...
What you are left with is a vast wasteland of the cable news networks talking about polling results for Biden's dog choices and Morning Joe ranting that reporters went to Alaska rather than Illinois. He has no understanding of the different environments that Blogo and Obama came from and their antithetical orientation.

Sarah Palin is still and will always be a terrible embarrassment to McCain and the republican party as well as the nation.

7. Oh. I see. I meant the off button for the television. Period.

2. I Agree A Bit
Edited on Tue Dec-16-08 08:44 AM by GR
It seems Greta is extremely curious to hear every nuance of the reasoning that Obama critics have used to arrive at their idiotic opinions. She asks them questions and prolongs their air time far beyond their useful life. Still C-SPAN is great and the topic of unemployment insurance is very, very important. The idiot-ditto-bot caller who was sure there were many "double dipping" retirees earning $100K in retirement benefits should be committed for insanity. He also doesn't understand that the states cannot deficit spend like the Federal Government and must receive aid from the Feds or make huge cuts at the worst possible time for the economy. At the same time, the White House series is great and in general C-SPAN is far superior to the rants of Morning Joe, for example.

3. It's C-SPIN...Part Of The "Entertainment"
I can just imagine those xmas parties around C-SPIN are a real hoot...what a bunch of partiers they are.

For the years I've watched this show, I have never known C-SPIN not to have some straight-laced GOOP clone on WJ...fitting in the mold of the big boss...Brian Lamb. But then that's what makes it so much fun...watching all these "hosts" try to cover for this regime over the past 8 years and how the callers (who make this show), especially the wingnuts, have gone from major hubris to ultimate despair.

The other day I laughed watching Greta attempt to pronounce Blagojevich. But then she's also very young (my guess mid 20's) and is willing to work these hours and work for cheap. My bets are this job is one of the least desireable at this cable company shillfest...crappy hours, unpredictable guests and callers and tons of right wing water carrying.

As always there's never a Democratic rumor that doesn't get heard on this show. Skully lets his buddies get on and go on about how Obama's not an American or how Jews are the cause of all evils in the world...and he just thanks them for the call. It wasn't too long ago that if anyone dared mentioned booooshie being AWOL or his alcoholism, the call got cut off and fast.

5. Letterman Hit Him on the AWOL Last Night...
He hit him hard with a one-two punch...First...he showed great reactions to the shoe throwing, very quick...it's too bad he couldn't have been as quick with bin Laden, New Orleans, Lehman Brothers, bin Laden...etc. Then ...he hasn't dodged anything like that since the Vietnam War...

The shoe thrower has done many hearts good, but sadly he's in prison, now being tortured and possibly killed...for his great courage...

6. New Meaning of "If The Shoe Fits"...
Yep, Letterman has been on a roll lately...I can't wait for his final "Great Moments" bit...but with mixed emotions. No doubt I will be pissed about all the crap "his assholiness" brought over the past years, what an embarassment he always was and will be...but mixed with the knowledge this scumbag is gone and his party in tatters.

When I first saw the shoes thrown, I caught the irony and relationship to the Arab insult and expected both boooshie and our "beloved" corporate media to miss the point...and they sure did. This wasn't like someone tossing a tomato at the presidential equivelent of Fozzie Bear...but a symbol of the hate and frustration of those who were supposed to great us with "hearts and flowers".

I don't think this guy will face the ultimate fate for his protest...if anything, he's now a national hero, not only in Iraq, but throughout the world. His moment will stand in my mind along with the guy who stood up to the tanks in Beijing in 1989.

Cheers...
