In an interview with RealClearPolitics, President Bush vouched for the bona fides of his brother, who is considering a run for the U.S. Senate. “He would be an awesome U.S. Senator,” the president said. “He is a proven leader who, when given responsibilities, succeeded,” Jeb’s older brother said. Awesome is an abysmally overused word. Usually overused by people who have never heard of words like grand, splendid, magnificent, amazing, breath-taking, astonishing or even the similar, but less parochial, awe-inspiring.
