Very cool vids of Christmas lights. Tons of them
I've looked at a few and found them well done without being overdone. Having said this, I'm sure that somebody will find one that is totally overdone, but I like this link. Enjoy. :hi:

1. They should visit the corner of 12 Mile Road and Washington Avenue here in Royal Oak (MI)
It's the penultimate in 'tacky' ... tens of thousands of lights, inflated decorations, and plastic crap covering a double suburban lot. Every year it gets tackier. Drivers slow down to gawk and laugh. It lights up the sky.

2. We had a house like that here in NM
but he's scaled back in recent years because he's had trouble paying the utility bill even with donations.

His house is still infamous and draws a steady line of gawkers.

3. I'll have to check it out, should be up that way Sunday.
Thanks for the tip. :-)

On the north side of West Jefferson Ave. (between the town of Ecorse and Southfield Road), there are three houses that string their lights together. It used to be just them, and they do a doozy of a job, but the neighbor in a huge duplex across the street got into the act this year. It's something to behold.

4. I have instructions from my daughter to shoot her if she ever puts
an inflatable decoration in her yard. We've seen too many sagging Santas, melting Frostys and drooping reindeer around here as it is.

5. I find this new trend in inflatable lawn gewgaws as just more evidence that
we goto great lengths to decorate ourselves out of reality.

6. There is a house I pass on the way to work that is blinding.
Tacky, tacky, tacky.
