mention is made of the central fact that the concern is this was done to squash investigations in to Republican corruption like Lam's? As opposed to just covering it like a horse race, "Dems after Bush, Bush standing firm"?

I saw PBS had decent coverage of the relevant issues on NewsHour.

MSNBC was terrible with Matthews and Gregory, and then good later with Olberman.

What about other network and cable?

2. USA PATRIOT Act Provision

The provision in the renewal of the USA PATRIOT Act that allows Gonzo to appoint cronies and hacks without congressional review also seems to have fallen through the memory hole. That provision must be somewhere in the documents that have yet to be released (aka being withheld) and would show who had a greater involvement and reveal the plan to be even larger than it currently appears.
