Fired U.S. Attorneys led the Nation in Convictions. No Wonder the Bush Administration was Worried!
A BUZZFLASH NEWS ANALYSIS

Every day, the explanations for the firings of the eight U.S. attorneys are becoming less about competence and more about corruption. Some new statistics show that the prosecutors were in fact leading the nation in output:

* Six ranked in the top third of all U.S. attorneys for prosecutions, filing a combined 106,188 last year alone

* Five ranked in the top third for convictions, achieving 98,939

* Three were among the top five in the number of immigration prosecutions (including Carol Lam, whose firing was attributed to immigration by Karl Rove)

Now these were some busy folks. It is almost a wonder that the fired U.S. attorneys had the time to take the phone calls notifying them of their dismissals.

4. Is it any surprise, really?
Everything these guys do is corrupt, and most of it is flagrant... How is it that they're always so confident that they'll never get caught?

I guess they figure they'll still come out ahead even if some of their guys go down.

6. One thing I really hate is the doublespeak
It's like they've made a little game of it. When Bush says "The war in Iraq is a success," he's telling the complete and honest truth. For him and his pals, it is a success as they make billions of dollars. For everybody else it's a complete disaster destroying millions of lives and will have horrid ramifications for decades to come.

But it's okay because Halliburton is having a profitable year.

8. It is kindergarten simple.
They never ever ever ever ever thought they would lose congress...let alone BOTH houses.

They thought, oh maybe we'll lose eight, ten, twelve--but now way in hell do eighteen INCUMBENTS in the House and six in the Senate.

That's why they didn't give a rip about all the daily crimes they kept committing, one after the other. It was Armageddon when it happened because now the skeletons are everywhere and they have no way to stop the hemorrhaging.

Oh, America is beautiful after all.

Can't remember who it was that gave the stat that something like 98% of incumbants stay in office? Was that Greg Palast?
