Damn- Obama pick Ken Salazar almost as right-ist as Lieberman.
A supporter of the Iraq war,
Salazar distinguished himself as a freshman senator in 2003 by personally leading Alberto Gonzales onto the floor of the Senate and then testifying on his behalf in his attorney general confirmation hearings.
Supported the appointment of William Myers III, a former Interior Department solicitor and ranching industry lobbyist, as a federal judge.
Senator Patrick Leahy, Democrat of Vermont, called Myers "the most anti-environmental candidate for the bench I have seen in 37 years in the Senate."

He is widely seen in the West as a loyal servant of the big ranching, mining and other major corporate interests, which backed his selection.

More...much much more

1. Good thing he's out of the senate then
but we had better keep an eye on him & make sure we don't get another Bush-style anti-environmentalist.

2. I'd rather he be in the Senate than heading the Interior.
gah.

I haven't lived in Colorado for 10 years and that weasel still gives me the heaves.

*wanders off, shaking her head and humming, 'They paved paradise and put up a parking lot' . . .*

4. What's up with all these..
so-called 'Democratic' Senators filling cabinet positions? And, why no Southerners? Where are all the progressive liberals? Has Obama thrown the entire left under the bus? Can we please stop this inauguration?

10. for anything...doesn't matter what...
he's appointed Democrats of questionable party credentials, not one but two republicans...I think he did toss in a liberal or a progressive..or maybe one of each....and a few black people..and a Latino...an Asian..and maybe a gay.....where is the southerner? Would it kill him to throw a bone to the south? After all we helped elect him. I'm being silly now..going over the edge. Time for me to get the hell out of here.

5. I'm really angry with the Salazar pick
I am fucking steamed! I have adopted two wild mustangs this year and I have become an advocate for the wild horses. The BLM (bureau of lumber and mining) needs to be cleaned up in a serious way and Salazar is not the man for the job.

On my wild horse blog I have pointed out the faults with the BLM and tried to convince my readers that a vote for pretty much any Democrat is a vote for protecting wildlife, the environment and the wild horses from the crooks at the BLM. I thought the 8 years of terrorism on the wild horses and the millions of acres they roam was over. I feel like an idiot.

Salazar is a cattleman and they consider wild horses vermin. The Obama chooses a bigot to give some kind of religious talkie thingie at his inauguration and now this Salazar dick head. WTF!

Like Rachel says, please talk me down.

6. Another center, center right, corporatist pick by the Obama team.
Salazar, Villsak, Gates, La Hoya, Duncan, yeah, we're going to change things alright, just not necessarily for the better.

7. I know..can it get any worse?
I am so upset. I have been in love with Obama for quite a while now. He is my messiah, and I eagerly drank the kool-aid. I even thought he was a 'progressive' 'liberal', who was going to appoint people like Howard Zinn, and Noam Chomsky to his cabinet. Woe is me... I hope that we can do something to stop this inauguration from taking place (maybe something is in the works). He has betrayed all of 'us' and is obviously not 'the change 'we' all voted for'.

8. Ken Salazar is....
.... Joe Lieberman in a cowboy hat. There's no difference between them.

I'm another Colorado Brit who's outraged at this pick.

Colorado (and America) deserves better than these Vichy Democrats.

12. Those of you who are "so Upset with Obama's" picks should read this
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/12/19/obamas-pragmatism-angers_n_152327.html

I saw the PBS documentary (The Choice 2008) before the election. His pragmatism got me to vote for Obama. Seems like people on here "so upset with Obama," should have watched the documentary before they voted for Obama - ESPECIALLY the section on Obama's "Harvard Law Review" years.

Seems like you guys don't study up on your candidates, and now all you guys are doing is complaining and complaining and complaining. Funny thing, Obama hasn't even taken office yet.

I've proclaimed it before and I'll do it here: the right isn't going to destroy the left. It's the left themselves.

Sometimes us in the left are truly astoundingly impatient and aren't looking at the big picture. I seriously believe that in 2010 we will potentially lose our majority (partially due to bickering and disagreements), by 2014 we potentially can lose the presidency.

I'm truly amazed with everyone on here. NO WONDER THE DEMS CONTINUALLY SEEM TO LOSE ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAVE "VICTORY" WITHIN OUR SIGHTS.

Don't you guys remember these words?

"Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America.

There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America.

The pundits, the pundits like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States: red states for Republicans, blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states.

We coach little league in the blue states and, yes, we've got some gay friends in the red states.

There are patriots who opposed the war in Iraq, and there are patriots who supported the war in Iraq.

We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America."

I think many of us here are forgetting that although Obama is a Democrat, he will be the President of the United States. He is not the President of the United States for just Dems and the Left.
