Anyone keep a link to that thread regarding the movement of the universe?
Does anyone remember that thread about a man who came up with a model to reflect how the stars and planets would move using an alternate theory to the big bang theory? The model looked like a kaleidescope.

9. It's incredible when you see the model move.
I thought about it last night when someone told me last night that we should stop worry about everything because the world is going to shift on in its orbit in 2012 and we're all going to die. (I'm thinking, okay, I'm not worried now.)

Anyway, it would certainly make one amazing plot for a fiction story. Remember, I said it first.

3. I missed it, but how can the universe ..."move"? Relative to...what?
I think kaleidoscopes are way cool, though. :D

12. I like them, myself. If I ever had the resources, I would work with them
to come up with something that would make me some money. They have a lot of potential, for the imagination.

16. The universe moves
Oh yeah, baby. It moves in relation to other universes in this galaxy which itself is moving.
Now the question is: where are we moving too? And what will our neighbors be like?

18. "It moves in relation to other universes in this galaxy..."
there's only the one universe(theoretical astro-physics aside), and the galaxies are contained in it- not the other way around.

I can't remember much about the dude but I'm sure that'll help push you in the right direction.

Cheers!

8. Oh, I remember that....
It was fascinating. It was posted maybe a year or so ago?

I bookmarked that thread and his paper, and I read it, and it was very confusing, but some physicists thought it had potential merit.

That surfer dude?
