Haven't heard hicks but in the record store I work at he just in the last two years or so got popular.

And HE stole from George Carlin, who stole from Lenny Bruce. And so it goes.

But the Hicks Cult gets very defensive about him, and for some reason thinks he was the first stand-up comedian.
