Edited on Fri Jan-26-07 01:21 PM by WI_DEM
Easley--44%
Dole--40%

women favor Easley while men narrowly favor Dole.

p.s. Dole only has a 36% approval rating.

6. Viagra Bob
Its 'hard' to say if he is an asset at this juncture,
these are good numbers, but it is still 2 years off
for this premature erection.....err I mean election.

4. Men favor dole because
she likes death, destruction and despair. She approves of bush using our military and our men and women in uniform as toys to be played with like the John Larroquette character on Stripes. Its a poor reflection on the men of North Carolina.

10. Okay
my apologies. That poll was a sad reflection on men in North Carolina who support dole. I'm in the same boat. No doubt trent lott polls extremely heavily with men in Mississippi.

8. I don't know much about Easley. I am always hoping that some Dem
governor comes from out of nowhere, enters the 08 pres primary and sweeps everyone off their feet. Like Carter or Clinton.

12. It won't be him
As a North Carolinian, I can tell you that he's not presidential material. He's a good governor, but he won't be entering the White House.

I could definitely see him in the Senate though.

13. Awesome! Easley's an amazing campaigner too...
So, Liddy's gonna go.

On another note...
The jr. senator from NC is now in the floor speaking jibberish. (Burr)

15. She was lucky to be running in 2002.
That was a very favorable environment. She may yet win again, but at the moment her prognosis is not great.

18. A Senate without Elizabeth Dole would be a much-improved
Senate.

I hope Easley jumps into this one and wins big.

19. Here, here
from what my NC friends tell me, Governor Easley is a very likable and smart politician.

Unfortunately it is burned in my brain, but if anyone (Republicans included) saw Liddie Dole on Meet the Press the Sunday prior to the elections, they wouldn't even vote for her to be on a local school board. She was an absolute embarrassment, and even Russert sat back and laughed after she wouldn't stop talking for a solid 5 minutes straight. Rahm, Schumer and Tom Reynolds all looked amused as well.

20. She had earned the nickname "Sugar Lips" when she was in her
Cabinet position and would come to the Hill to ask for funding.

Maybe the Southern Belle spiel has run its course, or maybe she's just unspooling before our very eyes. She just lost the Senate to the Democrats.

Maybe she will just decide not to run.

I certainly wouldn't miss her.
