The Rethugs are gonna have to keep putting up with Babs through 2011 at the very earliest. We've all got four more years of her sitting pretty in the Senate before there's even a snowball's chance of her not winning re-election.

Of course, the downside to that is that I have to wait for more years before I get to vote for her again...

15. Kick and recommend and a couple of comments:

First note that Inhofe addresses former VP Gore as "senator" rather than Vice President (tradition is to address the person with the highest office that they formally held; Sen. Boxer refers to Gore as Vice President Gore.)

Second note the dismissive/smug arrogance from Inhofe - this is a great video because it captures the tone - print transcripts can not capture this tone to the degree that it oozed from Sen Inhofe's lips.

Third note the behavior - of talking over the person trying to answer the question. This happens all of the time - but when the person speaking is a former senator and vice president the "how rude" factor grows expontentially. This clip is a keeper. A save for now and send on to any folks you know who spout the ridiculous line about how superior the repubs are at letting opposition voice their opinions while *they* (playing the victim card) are so respectful. Anytime you hear this - send this clip.

Finally - props to Boxer for calling Inhofe on his obnoxious behavior - she does it in a more respectful way than Inhofe treats Gore. She was magnificent in how she handled this. I had the pleasure of attending a big fundraiser in the last days of her 1998 reelection (a boss rewarded me for my work by buying to tickets and taking me to the event - one of the most unexpected and pleasing 'bonuses' I have received). I no longer live in California, but I still take pride in having voted for Senator Boxer. Kudos are deserved and sent.

I hope a lot of folks see and distribute this video cip.

After all the crap they've pulled on us, after how disgustingly they would treat us in the minority, after sensenfucker's behavior at our hearing, after our important hearings in basements; I've waited for such a moment.

This, more than ANYTHING, has given me ultimate reflection on our victories this past December. Why we needed to win. Why we needed our voice back. Barbara just fucking NAILED it. I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face then and I can't wipe it off now. That was just too amazing of a moment.
