Just exactly do you expect from the “Straights”

If there is such a thing – 100% Straight – Strictly Dickly – ect, ect

You yourselves were tossed into a quagmire of confusion and disbelief and or denial when you discovered your own true feelings. "Coming Out Crisis" or what ever you wish to call it was no walk in the park – am I right.

So now you have 90% of the country – who, whether they choose to admit it or not, have an occasional gay thought which immediately is followed by Fear, Self Loathing, and Hatred. Combined by the possibility a Gay friend or mere acquaintance may or may not have made motions, jesters, or even a “Good O’l Fashioned Gay Sexual Advance” towards said “Straight Person” ½ of whom have had a genuine Gay Sexual Experience even if they choose not to admit it.

Now, amongst all this Confusion, Self-Loathing, Hatred, and Sexual Identity Crisis, you want us to accept what????

1 very Big Problem

The so called Straight Community has a very very (as in extremely small) limited positive experience history in dealing with folks of a different sexual preference. Just exactly which “Happy Fond Memories” do you wish us to draw from – The ones where we were about to kill ourselves because we had a “Gay Thought” for a close friend at age 13. Or the one were we were accused of being Gay by upper classmen because we wore “Nut Huggers” in the 9th grade.

You all can take a lesson from the Religious Right on this one

We didn’t become a Bible Thumping, Constitutional Shredding, Illegal Iraq War Machine over night. It took many little Legal and Societal “Baby Steps” prior to waking up one day and the Religious Right with the aid of the Supreme Court had installed George Bush and stolen an election.

Demand Federally recognized Civil Unions through out the United States and mandated by the 14th amendment to be recognized by all 50 states

Give the Straight – Born Homophobic citizens time to have positive experiences with Gay and Lesbian couples in living next to them and dealing with them on a daily basis – and I firmly believe true equality to be 5 yrs or less away.
