In these hard economic times, please remember...

Please remember that there are millions of us that work in the service industry, whose livelihoods depend on the gratuity of those who we serve, ie; bellmen/women, food servers, pizza delivery drivers and other such jobs. If you use our service, please tip us, (if we deserve it). Our lives depend on it.

Peace

2. I am using services less, but tipping more.
Waitressing put me through college and other lean times. I never skimp on a tip, with the rare exception of terrible service.

5. We left a $10 tip for a waitress at Village Inn...
...last week.

We don't eat at restaurants often, but when we do, we plan on tipping generously.

Those in these service industries deserve our respect and our support. They work very hard.

6. I tip between 20-25% depending on my money situation.
Yes, I know how it is. I'm a nurse, and sometimes I feel like I should get tipped! lol They send out patient satifisfaction surveys to the patients and our raise is based on the surveys. I guess that's our tip.

I know they don't pay people who get tips as much, so I try to tip well. For excellent service, I might somtimes pay 50%.
They say smokers are better tippers. I forget why. I'm a smoker (yeah, and a nurse, too) so I remembered reading this. I also heard that smokers stay to eat in a spot longer, though, so it balances out. Of course, many places don't allow smoking anymore so there's probably not a distinction for that anymore.
