If the Obama Administration wants to really help the economy..
THEY CAN START BY ENDING THE MIDDLE EAST OCCUPATION!!!

If they want to achieve ANY of their promises/goals, they are going to have to do so! otherwise, it was all just talk.

1. Wouldn't we have to find something other than oil to fuel our economy before we did that?

4. We don't need to start there---
The number of overseas military bases is staggering.

From a list posted at military.com here are a few examples:

Germany: 27 bases
Italy: 8 bases
Japan: 10 bases
UK: 9 bases
Korea: 8 bases

This might be excessive..........
:sarcasm:

15. There is not reason for those bases in those countries...
how would we fill if those countries had bases here in the states?

There is no need for it, we need to stop policing or trying to police the world.

6. you REALLY want to do something about the
economy? how about executing on Louis Gohmert's idea? Gohmert has proposed a 60 day federal tax holiday: no federal income or payroll taxes would be collected. the estimated dollar amount would be in the $300 - 350 billion range back in the hands of the American tax payer.

Of course this idea will be excoriated as Gohmert is a republican and from Texas but this idea has as much merit as any other ones I have heard.

money in the hands of the taxpayer any worse than collecting the taxes and then pissing out $350 billion in economic aid to corporations?

10. Do you ever make an across the board spending decrease in your personal budget?
Probably not because it's dumb.

Some expenditures will always be more important than others.

I'd like to pay 20% less in health insurance premiums but if I decreased the amount I paid my policy would just get canceled.

8. We need both, long/short term solutions...ultimate plans must be broad and inclusive.
must create 4 to 8 million new jobs within 2 years or less...

must be jobs that cannot be out sourced

must have a goal of creating even more jobs until a stable level is reached...

New jobs should be good ones...pays middle class level...$40 to $100 K per year...entry level will automatically go up...

The middle class need help...

Come, we go see Opi's Solution Source...

12. Why Didn't You Get A Cabinet Position?
Opi for Secretary of Getting Shit Done!!

We definitely need to end boooshie's wars for profit...take that "war dividend" and invest it as you say...put the money into infrastructure and seeding small business to both create jobs and strengthen the country and the economy.

We've done it their way..."free markets" that were never really free, now it's time to build from the bottom up...a strong upwardly moving middle class where those who now have the skills can put them to work and at a living wage and to create opportunities for those needing skills and experience to move up the ladder as well. Last time that happened, the country prospered for nearly 40 years.

13. No onelistens to old farts like me....nearly 70 and rapidly going downhill
Lucky I still got the brain...body is shot to hell...

But, if we lucky...they will do something long term...the Philisophical side seems to shifted somewhat from greed to deed...Obama doing the best he can...but he is only one man...

The enemy is Information Over Load....too much info out there...no one can handle all...

and of course,,,Ignorance....

So the answer lies in a multi pronged attack...education that works....this no child left behind was a scam...

Inspirational Civics is another one that could be tied in to welfare...they get more $$ if they know more about civics...that sort incentive...results are better voting patterns...more informed...better leaders + better decisions

Projects: more food production with less energy....very easy if we think....most of us haven't

More training for construction of new developments for massive housing/commercial/gov't/industry all energy efficient cutting our individual usage 70% and still maintain luxury and fun levels of today.

more projects to address saving the Planet...if no Planet....= no viable future for Humanity..

There are so many projects that are not being considered I am sick....
