It's clear that those rumblings were around for years. Did self-interest get in the way of Spitzer investigating Madoff? Looks like it may have. The ultra wealthy Spitzer family had beaucoup de bucks invested with Madoff.

1. If He Knew Madoff Was A Scamster, Wouldn't He Pull The Spitzer Fortune Out?
I don't think that he suspected.

I suspect that at least a few more Madoff's will pop out of the woodwork.

3. I think the relationship between NY Democrats and Madoff...
may be troublesome. Just look through this database with the search query "Madoff, Bernard" and you'll find he only donated to Democrats, most of them in NY.

http://fec.gov/finance/disclosure/norindsea.shtml

He's donated over $150,000 to various Democrats, most in NY, according to that database.

2. Madoff donated only to Democrats, and I suspect some kind of corruption.
The Federal Elections Commission has a database of campaign contributions, and if you look through it for Bernard Madoff, they're all to Democrats. Most of the NY Democrats. And large amounts too.

We know that Madoff admitted to the crimes he was accused of in custody, though that confession may not stand up in court. If he confessed to this, and he is eventually proved guilty, does that not tarnish these people?

I'm telling you, there's very little difference between our side and theirs, when it comes to the politicians at the top.

5. Spitzer lost money to Madoff
Can't give you a link but you can Google it. I've been reading extensively about Madoff and I ran across this fact. The article didn't say how much. It was just a short article.

6. There were several people who were suspicious of Madoff
and complained to the SEC, but they did not find anything. Now they speculate that he kept two sets of books.

His sons, who worked with him were not aware of the scheme until he confessed.
