Revolution - If Criminals like Cheney and Rove are not brought to justice...
..by our governmental system, then full revolution will be the only way to end the rule of the aristocrats.

If the aristocrats are in fact running the country to the point that the rule of law does not apply to them, then the situation will keep getting worse.

The test will be, can PE Obama muster enough support among the honest to overthrow the ruling aristocrats? The proof will be the prosecution of Cheney and Rove.

What could possibly be a reason that an Obama administration would allow these criminals to continue their wickedness.

The recent death of Michael Connell, I believe, is a warning, a bold in your face move showing us that we can’t touch them.

There is nothing more important than reestablishing the rule of law as it applies to the aristocrats.

I am not advocating revolution, but if an Obama administration can’t bring these most horrible criminals to justice, then our system has gone beyond the tipping point and normal government means will not be able to set it right.

Terrible analogy time: If you had a dike holding back the seas and Dick and Karl were running around poking holes in the dike. You might think that plugging the holes most important. But if they are poking two holes for every one you plug, they have to be stopped.

and actual power situation present today. Eventually this fact will dawn on the masses; NOT UNTIL then will anything be done about our disaster and mess.

2. I'd eb shocked and amazed if anybody is prosecuted
Honestly, presidents have not prosecuted the adminsitrations of their predecessors for a significant reason. It sets a precedent whereby you and your administration could be prosecuted.

6. I agree, but what a sad way to operate. Just think if we choose not to prosecute a criminal
because it meant we had to extra cautious to not put ourselves in position to get arrested. bush/Cheney/Rove have gone beyond the limits. Obama has to go for it.

8. I'd love it if they did, but I don't expect it at all
and if they don't, it still is no reason for open rebellion against the nation I love as you suggest we should do in your OP.

26. I do not suggest a rebellion. I do think that when those that are stealing
everything they can, go so far as having people starving and no jobs etc. then people will rebel. I sadly think it will turn violent. The greedy do not care but if you render the masses hopeless, they will have nothing to loose. They are currently stealing trillions, this eventually will lead to hyperinflation which will push the middle class into poverty. I don't see Obama stopping this trend.

I am honestly interested in your description of the "nation" you love.

3. Agreed, it's gotta happen, there are fundamental flaws in the US government...
1. Executive branch is top down, employees who would know about corruption serve at the pleasure of the President, and are loyal to that person, whomever they are.

2. Both house of Congress are not really representative and leave millions of people without representation in Congress. Power is not distributed in each district through apportionment, but first past the post winner takes all. This allows practices like redistricting to leave people disenfranchised. NO TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION!

3. Decisions by the SCOTUS in the past rendered the 9th amendment useless. It was meant to establish a system where the people are the originators of power/sovereignty, but in our system power has come to be held by the government with delegations of freedoms given to the people.

13. Good points, and another is that encumbent Congress-critters are elected for life.
Unless ousted by the opposing party. So Democratic Senators like DiFi can not be replaced. Even Lieberman proved it. LaMont the clear choice of the people (democrats) was not part of THE CLUB and was opposed by even his own party in the Senate.

7. I strongly agree. If there's no move to hold Bush-Cheney accountable
and this is a whitewash, that means complicity. Moreover, it means something about our political system is fundamentally broken and can't be fixed through the electoral process. A cover-up is the last thing we need right now. Rather, we need to reestablish the rule of law, so thoroughly violated.

14. Simple economics:
Laws are for the lower classes.

Bushco will leave with their 10 Trillion dollars with full honors(if not public love).

The illusion of democracy is a powerful sedative.

19. I suspect most of them will indeed stay here, in charge through their corporations
The players like Bush have to leave for a few years, but since they won't be tarred and feathered, someone in the family like Jeb will return to play president in 8 or so years. Since they never got called on the blatant election fraud, their candidate will win(It might even be Palin after they groom her some more).

When they come back, they'll dismantle any progress that had been made. It will be Deja Moo all over again.

I remember a conference of radicals I watched around 1999ish. They were talking about how they had embraced capitalism and were changing the world using the weapons of their enemies. They declared that they had won the battle, and had been smarter than some of the groups members who spoke of the evil of great wealth.

They were all dirt poor and powerless once the bubble burst and Bush was firmly in charge.

It will happen again.

20. Yeah, demanding justice is great and all
But if revolution means a starbucks window gets smashed or a car gets torched that's a price that's just too great to pay.

23. Police cars torched
bank windows smashed, police stations and party offices attacked, universities and union buildings occupied and turned into social centers etc. but no one killed or shot except by cops... as in Greece... price paid only in their worthless money.

The revolutionary choise is, no apparent ground between: Mammon or We the people.

a satue of golden Bull somewhere "important" being worshipped by a group of self-claimed Xians...

And I've been wondering why nobody hasn't yet made something equally or even more symbolic to the Bull...
