President-elect Barack Obama has set up a website to gather ideas from ordinary citizens on the most important issues facing our country.

Obama wants to hear from you about health care. Now is our chance to show the president-elect the tremendous support nationwide for single payer health care.

Show your support for single payer health care.

Single payer universal health care is the only solution that will take profit out of health care. We need health care reform that will:

* Create a publicly-financed, privately-delivered universal health care program covering all Americans;

* Cover all medically-necessary services without charging co-pays or deductibles;

* Eliminate corporate greed from our health care delivery system.

1. It IS the solution, but will not happen in our lifetimes

In order to make it work, some things have to happen simultaneously/first..

IDs for EVERYONE..IDs that peg you as a citizen or legitimately eligible for coverage.

For single payer to work, ONLY people truly eligible would be able to participate. If you think the immigration issue is ugly NOW...just wait until there's single payer health care..

AND the part-two is the total EXCLUSION of any and all "medical insurance" scam.

Don't expect all the bazillionaires in the insurance game to just walk away quietly.

AND employers would have to be BARRED from "providing" health care to their employees, as part of the benefits package.

2. HR 676.

We can do this today, with enough determination to move forward.

I agree that Congress people are likely to drag their feet for as many years as possible.

They need voters massing behind them with pitchforks and flamethrowers, encouraging them to step lively and pick up the pace.

4. It has to happen this time.

Every time we have been close in the past to getting national health care, distractions like wars have put it on the back burner. Now we have to have a ground surge from every single one of us to inform those who make the laws to make it happen. This is how Social Security was passed and Medicare for Seniors. Medicare was conceived as a program for everyone but it was felt it had a better chance of passing if it were for seniors only. Well it passed, so the time is ripe to complete the job started so long ago by FDR and complete his vision of social justice for all.
