Does anyone know anything about the Lewin Group?
They do consulting on health care issues.

My Congressman's office says they are non-partisan. It's not partisan that I'm concerned about. It's that they may have ties with the insurance industry.

I am suspicious. How are they tied to the insurance companies?

I can't find anything or don't know where to look. There was something in one website about "United Health Group". It appears that Lewin may be some part of UnitedHealth Group.

1. Being tied to the industry is sort of partisan. It's just our politicians
aren't. They love money.

4. Thank you elleng
I looked up all this stuff online. I did find that.

It doesn't tell me Who They Are. Their website says they are nice people. Very smart.

I'm looking for their associations with the insurance industry.

3. I called Brian Baird's office this morning and talked to Jessica

She's the lead aide on health care issues. She explained to me how there is no way we can have single payer health care. It's politically impossible to get it through.

I told her I'd do some more research on the issue. I want to know how much insurance companies have invested in Baird. She said there are other people in the country that will not go for single payer. I told her our only hope of getting costs under control is to get the managed health care providers out of the middle. She said that moderate dems and and Republicanswill never go for it.

I let her know that we would be working even harder to get more people involved. Baird needs to listen to his constituents --- that's when she let me know that Congressman Baird was elected to represent his constituents. We elected him to represent us, not to listen to us. (Well, she say that last bit exactly that way, but it sounded like that was what she was saying.)

I don't trust anyone anymore --- hardly.
