Coincidence? Both Bush Admin and Chinese Government Condemn NYT?
Edited on Mon Dec-22-08 05:16 PM by Median Democrat
Is it just a coincidence that both the Chinese Government and the Bush administration have condemned or attempted to cenrsor the New York Times. First, China has blocked access to the NYT's website in Chine. Now, we have the Bush administration once again attacking the New York Times. It is ironic that notwithstanding the right wing's alleged love of American values that they feel the need to repeatedly whine about how they are covered by various news outlets. If Obama shared the same approach as Bush, then we would have a daily news conference pointing out the inaccuracies and lies of Fox News. Why is okay for the current RW Bush administration to parrot the approach of a tolitarian regime in condemning articles critical of their policies, yet the right wing gets a free pass in creating a controversy about the return of fairness doctrine?

Personally, I could care less about the fairness doctrine. What I do want to see is a more diverse media, rather than current ownership by only 5 corporations.
