I wasn't bombarded by gratingly annoying Christmas songs until this week
Maybe I've just kept myself busier this year; maybe I'm listening to less radio.

But I'm sitting in a public venue right now and I've heard in the last two hours something like three different versions each of the same 10 Christmas songs since I got here. Do radio & song-feed companies really thing that audiences & shoppers want to listen to the same damn songs over and over rather than the usual top 40 drivel for the last two weeks of the year?

1. It's not Christmas until I hear "Feliz Navidad" and "Wonderful Christmas Time"
It takes two of the worst songs ever written to really bring home the true horror of the season for me.

2. As long as there's a Christmas, Burl Ives will never die
Even as we speak, he's looking down and smiling on us from Holly Jolly Heaven.

4. I actually heard a Burl Ives Christmas song downtown the other day
and it made me feel really good. Fortunately, something I've totally forgotten about since pissed me off just a few minutes later.

It's so hard maintaining mental equilibrium at this time of year.

3. We've had them at my local grocery store since Nov 1st
Until last week, I would shop with my IPod. :) Now I'm just dealing with it.
